Wasps Matchday Stewards

We are recruiting Rugby Match Day Stewards to join our friendly, approachable security team. Successful candidates will be responsible for stewarding public areas of the stadium including the main hospitality areas ensuring that our guests receive excellent customer service through providing of clear and accurate information as well as ensuring the safety of our guests.

About the role

The Insights Marketing Manager reports into the Director of Marketing and works alongside the Marketing and Community teams. The main focus of the role is to provide insights and planning for the Wasps match by match marketing campaign and the Wasps season ticket campaign. As a key member of the Marketing and Community function the role will work closely with the Events and Digital Marketing Manager to ensure that match and season ticket sales are optimized and the journey from ticket purchaser to lifelong season ticket holder continues to grow. 

Key tasks will include;

  • Work closely with Marketing team across Data, Digital and Events to ensure targets for attendance and season tickets are met.
  • Provide accurate and up to date calendar of emails, newsletters, SMS communications.
  • Provide accurate and insightful debrief reports post game on ticket sales and trends.
  • Recommend strategy for customer segmentation and offer.
  • Ensure digital media spend is measured and effective across all groups.
  • Liaise closely and provide business focus for Communications Executives.
  • Report on click through rates, open rates and opt ins/outs on digital channels.
  • Ensure the effective use of the media budget and provide reports on effectiveness.
  • Support Events manager on match/event days to provide the ultimate matchday experience.

Hours of work

This is 40 hours per week. The flexibility to work outside normal office hours and cover event days both match and non-match days is a requirement of this role due to the nature of tasks involved. This may include weekends and public holidays.

About the role

This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week dedicated to leading the athletic development of Wasps Junior Academy players (U18) and ‘next best’ EAPs aged 16-18. You must be flexible in your commitment to this role as you will be expected to work evenings, weekends and match days.

A key area of this will be outreach support into partner schools for EAPs and leading at our satellite training Hubs embedding the Wasps academy programmes and pathway.

The main venue for delivery of the programmes will be Henley-on-Thames college, where Wasps have an AASE program. In addition, you will be required to lead the delivery of all South based U18 sessions and deliver outreach to specified players within the school environment.

The role requires excellent practical and theory based knowledge, experience and a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team managing an elite rugby development program.

Key tasks will include;

  • Alongside the Head of Academy Athletic Development, devise and manage the implementation of evidence based long-term athletic development plans for the U18 Junior Academy and AASE players.
  • Lead physical testing of Wasps U18 and AASE players, in line with the academy testing battery
  • Keep an up to date database of all testing, to be fed back to Academy Manager, Head of Academy Athletic Development, and coaching staff, as a mechanism to optimise practice.
  • Lead and deliver to the Wasps U18 Junior Academy, including overseeing U18 EAPs
  • Support and assist the Head of Academy Athletic Development in Senior Academy S&C sessions where necessary
  • Alongside the Head of Academy Athletic Development, plan and monitor evidence based individualised training programs for U18 & U16 Junior Academy
  • Liaise on a weekly basis with the Academy Manager, Head of Academy Athletic Development, Head of Academy Physiotherapy, U18, U16 and AASE coaches to ensure weekly schedules are planned for Wasps, U18, U16 and AASE players on a team and individual basis.  
  • Liaise with the Academy Manager, Head of Academy Athletic Development and Head of Academy Physiotherapy regarding all U18 / U16 EAP player’s ‘Case Conferences’ ensuring that the player is in the optimal physical condition for the age and stage of his development
  • With the Head of Academy Athletic Development, Head of Academy Physiotherapy, and as a multi-disciplinary team link prehab, rehab and return to play strategies to ensure that players are in the optimal physical condition, and returned to play as fast as possible, within a criteria based framework.
  • Manage the exchange of information and data between relevant parties to aid player development, performance and management
  • Attend Academy and AASE fixtures as necessary
  • Support coach U16 Academy squads and DPP, where agreed with Academy Manager and Head of Academy Athletic Development

The successful candidate

  • Should live within 30-45 mins travelling time from Henley Upon Thames
  • Hold a BSc in Sport Science or related disciplines as a minimum however preferably a BSc and MSc in Sport Science or related disciplines
  • UKSCA accreditation or working towards accreditation
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience coaching within an academy setting

40 hours per week.
