Guy Thompson joined Wasps in 2013/14 from Jersey and had a very impressive debut season in black and gold. The back row player linked up with a talented pool of back rowers who were outstanding during the season.
Thompson made 25 appearances in his first season in the Premiership and scored nine tries, including a try against Stade Francais in the second leg of the ERCC play-off. Thompson was also nominated for Try of the Season for his try against Leicester Tigers at Welford Road.
Guy had an equally impressive second season, making 22 appearances and scoring seven tries. Off the back of his stellar form over the last two seasons, Thompson was rewarded with a new long-term deal in August 2015.
Thompson put in some dazzling displays during the 2015/16 season and the back row forward scored a memorable try against Toulon at the Stade Felix Mayol in January.
Last season Thompson enjoyed lots of game time, playing 25 times and some eye-catching form at the start of the season saw him mentioned in conversations about England squad contention.
The 30-year-old utility back row player signed for the Club on the back of an outstanding season in the RFU Championship, having been shortlisted with two others for the Championship Player of the Year award.
Thompson rose quickly through the ranks at Jersey in his two years there, signing for the then National 1 side from Richmond in the summer of 2011. He helped the Channel Island club to promotion into the Championship in his debut season winning the Players' Player of the Season in the process and the back row player was the Club's top try scorer for two seasons running.
He was previously a member of the Gloucester Academy and linked up with a former school-mate Matt Mullan at Wasps, who signed from Worcester.
