Simon McIntyre

Born in Manchester, Simon McIntyre started playing rugby at Broughton Park RFC, aged 8 and progressed through the grassroots scheme. He began his professional career at Sale Sharks in 2009 as an Academy player.

McIntyre has made a strong impact since joining Wasps in the summer of 2011, having made over 100 appearances to date and was rewarded with a contract extension back in May 2016.

Having made the switch from tight to loosehead, McIntyre made impressive inroads into Dai Young's match day squad, also showing an eye for the try line.

In 2013/14, McIntyre made 25 appearances for the Club, sharing the loosehead role with Matt Mullan. He also scored a try against Viadana in a 14-try frenzy.

For the last two seasons the 26-year-old was a regular in the matchday squad and has formed a strong loosehead duo with Matt Mullan.

Talented in the loose, McIntyre has represented England at U18 level.
