Bob Collier and Allan Clain
Wasps are saddened to hear of the death of former player and vice president Bob Collier and former vice president and life member Dr Allan Clain.
Bob first played in the Wasps back row aged 20 in 1959, and made his final appearance in 1967. He also won county honours with Gloucestershire and Buckinghamshire and was a member of the unique 1962/3 Cambridge University side that won all their games up to and including the Varsity Match.
His connection with his former club continued into the early professional era as a board member of Loftus Road Holdings plc (then the holding company of QPR FC and Wasps RFC).
Bob, who passed away on July 4 after a long and hard fight against leukaemia, has been remembered by contemporaries as a very popular figure on and off the field.
Allan Clain MB ChB Cape Town FRCS, passed away on June 23 at the grand age of 96.
As a talented medical practitioner, Allan treated many Wasps in their hour of need. In later years he became a great supporter, following his club to Loftus Road and High Wycombe.
Both are sadly missed.
